Vasile Baghiu

poetry is rather a matter of life than art

a few websites which are either related to me as a poet or which I just find interesting

http://www.tjmfpublishing.com  TJMF Publishing is both a forum of poetry and a publishing house whose founders and collaborators are very passionate of poetry and literature. I have the honor to be among its published authors with the volume “Transatlantic Crossings. The Constant Language of Poetry” (co-authored also by Donna Timney and Michael Cotner).

http://www.poetrycircle.com  Poetry Circle is a special and professional community of poets and lovers of poetry. It has warmly accepted me as a member and recently invited me to join its editors' board.

http://www.emergingpoets.net  Emerging Poets is a lovely site of poetry that cultivates the spirit of family and friendship among its fellow-poets and encourages a professional view on everything related to literature. It is where I begun my adventure to write in English, about 2004.

http://johnyamrus.tripod.com/  The website of the poet John Yamrus. I have had the pleasure to translate some of John's poems into Romanian and to publish them in the Romanian magazines Convorbiri Literare and Antiteze. In my view, his poetry is accessible and profound in the same time, a pretty rare combination, always a delightful read anyway.

http://www.memorialsighet.ro/en/   The Memorial of the Victims of Communism and of the Resistance was initiated in 1992 by the President of the Civic Alliance in Romania, Ana Blandiana, together with Romulus Rusan and an important group of historians, architects and designers. In January 1993, Ana Blandiana handed over the project of the Memorial to the Council of Europe. After two delegations of experts visited Sighet, the Council of Europe drew up a report-study in 1995 and took the Memorial under its aegis. In 1998, The Council of Europe designated the Sighet Memorial as one of the main memorial sites of the continent, alongside the Auschwitz Museum and the Peace Memorial in Normandy.Made up of a Museum - situated in the former political prison in Sighet - and anInternational Center for Studies about Communism - with its headquarters in Bucharest - The Memorial aims to rebuild the memory of certain nations, particularly the Romanians, who for half of a century have been misled with a false history. Although it is located a long way from Bucharest, in the extreme north of Romania, the Sighet memorial is geographically in the centre of Europe, and is an important cultural tourist objective, visited both by Romanians and also by many foreign travellers.
